Principles & Values
PNG ADP believes:
- In the universal application of human rights.
- In the equality of opportunity for all citizens
- In open, transparent and accountable ways of conducting its affairs and contacts with others.
- In the right of all people to be treated with dignity and to live in conditions that enhance self-respect.
- That all people should be treated with respect.
- That disability is a term that describes the exclusion experienced by persons with restricted use of a part or parts of a body that is the result of the barriers caused by the environment they live in and the negative attitudes of people and institutions.
- That all persons have abilities and strengths that should be recognised, encouraged, and used.
- That PWDs will only claim their rights to live as full and active citizens of PNG if they are willing to voice their wishes and needs and struggle to achieve them as a united group.
